JBCP: Season of gratitude
Dec 2015
James Bay Community Project
By Paula Greene
It has been a year of celebration at JBCP and we want to express our thanks to you all for your support this year. Your commitment to your community is heartfelt and very much appreciated-thank you.
Hundreds of volunteer have shared hours of time and talent giving the gift of companionship and service all year around; ensuring that the most vulnerable and isolated members of our community get the help they most need. Volunteers embody the spirit of Christmas giving of themselves to benefit others and at JBCP many of our programs just wouldn’t run without them.
In 2015 we celebrated 40 years of service to your community and it was wonderful to see staff and volunteers past and present gather to connect and share memories. The Board room was full of people and buzzing with conversation. It is clear that the passion that created JBCP is alive and well, we will continue to honour this history through our online anniversary website which has articles and pictures from the past: www.jbcp.bc.ca.
Our Community neighbours have supported us this year through the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon and the 40 Anniversary celebrations: Pharmasave James Bay, Coast Capital James Bay, Victoria Athletics Club and Spinnakers James Bay. All have stepped up to support James Bay Community Project and the programs that serve those most in need. Their support through sponsorship means that your donation dollars go where they are most needed to the programs that serve children, families, youth, seniors and adults with disabilities.
The holiday season is also the time when we ask you to support James Bay Community Project through donations. We are fortunate to have a generous community of supporters who make a difference with every donation. Many of the programs just wouldn’t run without the generous support of people like you. There are so many ways to give at JBCP: Donate food for a holiday hamper so that as many people as possible can have food this Christmas, make a donation to the Gift of Good Food that aims to provide a fresh food box all year round to families, make a financial donation to JBCP that will be directed to programs and services in your community.
