After what seemed to be an interminable and utterly delightful summer, October 10– the date of the final James Bay Community Market of 2015 – looms ever closer. As the market season rolls to a close, we will spend the winter eagerly anticipating the Market’s return in May 2016. If you thought the Market was particularly vibrant this year, we can assure you that we expect it to be even bigger and better next year, with new vendors joining the veteran farmers and artisans. The long winter nights should fly by as we gear up for the 2016 Market season.
To ease your Market withdrawal symptoms, you may want to visit the 35 Annual James Bay Dickens Fair on December 5. As always, it will be held in the James Bay Community School at 140 Oswego, starting at 10am and running till 5pm. And, as always, you will be able to enjoy the wares of your favorite James Bay Market summer market vendors as well as those who have been long time favourite Dickens vendors. We have many new vendors this year as well to add flavour and flair to this wonderful community event. This year, we will also be awarding prize draws valued at $100.00, $50.00 and other surprises. Join us for a snack, meal or hot beverage from our catered cafe. There will be a children’s area. Even if you’re not in a shopping mood, you can share in some fun, laughs and good times with your community members.
Whether you are a weekly visitor to the James Bay Community Market, or a fan of the new and wonderful Breakwater Sunday Market (starting up again early summer 2016), or a die-hard friend of the Dickens Fair, your continued support is what makes the James Bay Market society tick. Every one of you is a valued member of the community and the secret to the continued success of the various markets.
