Letter to the Editor

There is a stigma around mental illness which is slowly decreasing. Mental
illness is a disease like any physical disease. The illness is a genetic defect or a
chemical imbalance in the brain, pronounced by life experiences or stress. Some
people hide the illness because they fear social rejection. The stigma does not
enable people to communicate freely nor does it help people to accept they have
mental illness.
