The managers of Orchard House are Donna and Jim,

We all appreciate and admire her and him.

We miss Patricia, who has gone to Edmonton,

So Don has taken her place;

On weekends, we shall see more of his merry face.

Our building is being restored from bottom to top,

Surrounded by secure scaffolding, so the workers don't go plop!

Around James Bay, I enjoy a walk,

The scenery is beautiful, and friendly residents smile, and we have a talk.

On Toronto St. I want to thank you for putting the yellow bench beside your flowers,

Where myself and others rest during the daylight hours.

Many places have had severe storms, causing much destruction;

We have had rain to fill our reservoir and much construction.

For so many blessings, thank you God;

We enjoy on Vancouver Island's sod!

Many other places have had cold and snow,

While we have had months of enjoying

Greenery and flowers, to set our hearts aglow.

There isn't a tree or flower but God planted it there,

There isn't the smallest hummingbird,

But He holds safely in His care.

There isn't a mountain so steep,

But God can help us surmount it if our hand in His, we will keep.

No obstacle lies in your pathway to prevent reaching your goal.

God can help you overcome it if He is in charge of your soul.

Trust in your heavenly Father, take heart in His love and calm.

He will take care of His children

As He holds their world in His palm.

When at day's end I take my rest,

I realize how much I'm blessed;

My thanks pour out to God once more.

So, I place my hand in His, as before.
