James Bay Market Opens
By Dallas Campbell
Established in 1985, the James Bay Community Market is still going strong. It's mission; to promote community through local commerce and entertainment still rings true today with over 40 local vendors involved in the market each week.
This year is one of change for the market, with long-time dedicated board members stepping down, allowing for new members to step up to the plate and bring with them new and exciting ideas. As a volunteer based board, the James Bay Market Society is always looking for new members and wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many wonderful volunteers and members that currently support the society and the market.
"As a past vendor, I believe I can offer a unique perspective into the needs of the market and the individual vendors," says Dallas Campbell, this year's market coordinator. "My hope is to build solid vendor participation through increased special events, establishing strong working relationships with local businesses and through community spirit," Dallas goes on to say.
