After a break in 2015, the James Bay Art Walk continues in its eleventh year. This is a non-juried show organized by and comprised of James Bay artists. On a late summer weekend, September 10 and 11, follow the self-guided artists’ walk along the tree lined streets of vibrant James Bay. From 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday twelve neighbourhood artists will display their eclectic works. Acrylics, water colours, sculpture, photography and mixed media provide art works for all tastes. James Bay Community School at 140 Oswego Street is the centre of the art walk with six artists showing there: Tony Bounsall, Marcia Stromsmoe, Jeanette Allan, David Ladmore, Soleil Mannion and Lori McGee. This location is wheelchair accessible and has a bike lockup. Other artists: Aeryana Castley, David Hunwick, Deborah McCarron, Holly Vivian, Karen Lancey and Avril Nolin will be showing at different locations indicated on the Art Walk map. Each locale will be decorated with a brightly coloured shoe hanging at the entrance to welcome you. This is an art show and sale. You can find information about the artists, map and sponsors on the website: jamesbayartwalk.ca. The website notes that, “Your full colour guide will be available at selected locations throughout the neighbourhood.”
