A Little Garden

Mar 2012

Once upon a time

I was a little garden in the Lord's backyard.

Little seeds grew inside me,

And others grew beside me.

When the ones inside me grew

Lovely and Fragrant,

Strangers came while I was sleeping

And removed them,

And transplanted them into the gardens.

And the ones beside me

(Having a mind of their own)

Moved away.

I am still a little garden

In the Lord's backyard,

But my soul keeps crying out,

"Replenish me, I pray!

For I am empty and sad,

And I long to hear Your footsteps

Coming my way.

And Your look of dismay,

When my emptiness touches Your heart.

Water me, I pray, from Your stream of life -

For I choke inside from dryness.

Dig a place inside my soul,

And drop fresh seeds, I pray.

New life, new hope, new joy.

I will be still and patient,

If I can hear Your footsteps..."
