If you're making a list and checking it twice, your holiday season would not be complete without visiting the 36th Annual Dickens Fair. On December 3, from 10am – 5pm, the James Bay Community School Centre is the place to be for one of Victoria’s oldest and best-attended Holiday Craft Fairs.

This show offers the perfect time for family and friends to take in all the festive sights and sounds that the holiday season has to offer! Whether you’re a return or first time visitor you will experience a treat at this year’s show. There will be free door prize draws to get your day started.

We’re very excited to welcome back some incredible vendors and introduce a line-up of new and talented crafters and artisans who will be displaying their creations during this amazing show. Looking for the perfect gift? The Dickens’ Fair will feature over 70 local, juried and unique artisans, one-of-a-kind gifts, beautiful holiday décor, and delicious food and baked items. You are sure to find something for everyone!

Treat yourself, your loved ones, and even your pets!

You will find leather and deerskin moccasins and an assortment of quality-quilted items from Maeli Bug Designs. There is also a great collection of knitted and hand woven hats, wraps and cowls perfect for men, women, teens and tots. Hand sewn fabric purses, tie-dye apparel in all types and sizes… from fun to funky we have it all!

Tipping Point Enterprises will wow you with her Soul Sister & Original Birdhouse Wind Chimes; for the home or garden, they come in a variety of designs that are created with whimsy and joy in mind. 

No holiday is complete without decorative pure beeswax candles in a variety of shapes and sizes. Maritime Blues will also help you dress your holiday table with their 100 % cotton tea towels, beautiful table runners and decorative place mats.

Adorn your home with hanging cloth angels, Santa dolls, snowmen, elves, reindeer and hand painted Christmas balls. Hand blown decorated glassworks are a marvel to behold and will add color and personality to your home. From cheerful greeting cards to scenic art prints, pottery to sculpture, and whimsical mobiles, our exhibitors will not cease to amaze you with their fine workmanship.

Don’t forget to pamper yourself! All-natural body products for men and women include soaps, shampoo and shaving bars. Specialty herbal products are also available: teas, honey, salves, tinctures, infused oils, gels, body scrubs, mineral sea soaks to name a few.

For something really different visit Island Stone Creations with their line of jewelry and home decor made of stone. Exceptional and long lasting, these items make the perfect gift. You will also find among our many jewelers, necklaces, rings, and earrings crafted from copper, brass, gemstones and glass.

Delicious delights from our specialty exhibitors will be hard to resist. For starters on the list we have Carmina Farm bringing pre-frozen roasted ducks, whole smoked duck liver pâté, and duck eggs. You will also find organic beef and mouthwatering sausages from Boughneath Farm. Compliment your holiday spread with Snowdon House’s hearty soup mixes, cheese pate blends and “dillicous” dips!

Create the perfect holiday menu with these delectable additions and complements. We have jams, jellies, marmalades, homemade crackers and pickled vegetables to add to your appetizer trays. You will also discover Asian inspired sauces, culinary infusions and blends, flavored vinegars, and homemade hot sauce for every taste.

Holiday sweets are also a must! Bring home some gingerbread cookies, Bake my Day’s gourmet and gluten-free baking is always a favorite. You can also fill someone’s stocking with some organic fudge and specialty candies.

The Dickens Fair is a destination for all ages. Children and adults alike will love meeting the Chicken Lady’s wonderful feathered friends. These amazing birds love attention and are counting on you to bring it.

The James Bay Community School PAC committee will be coordinating the children’s craft area and will also be a vendor. Come out and support those amazing people who do so much for the children.

All of this and more are happening on Saturday, December 3 from 10am to 5pm at the James Bay Community Centre in the heart of James Bay located at 140 Oswego Street. There will be an ATM on site for your convenience. Come in out of the cold and visit the Dickens Fair, a James Bay tradition and wonderful way to spend the day with family and friends.
