Jam Session

 I woke up this morning

            thinking I’ll make some marmalade

(a fancy name for Orange jam)

            that I have never made

After singing in the shower

            I got dried and dressed

My trusty little book of Jells

            said Spanish oranges are best.

I asked the Fruit and Veggie man

            who with a look of pain

Said “I’ve got plums from California

            but no oranges from Spain”.

Well I am making Marmalade

            so Plums will never do

I’ll try the other Produce store

            just up the road from you.

He used very nasty language

            his fat face turned bright red

I said “You better stop and

            keep a SEVILLE tongue in your head”.
