A bright light left us December 9

A bright light left us on December 9, 2015.  Lily Carrick Milljour was just 11 days shy of her 100th birthday.  I learned of her passing when I was delivering a scrapbook of copies of her Beacon poems and accolades which was researched by Veronica Fisher and compiled by Anne Draper, and I was able to give it to her daughter. Lily was our Poet Laureate of James Bay, a familiar personage, well loved and respected by all she came in contact with. She was also a great advocate of living in Victoria which can be attested to by numerous tourists who met her in their travels.  Her picture, I’m sure, was viewed all over the world!

God Bless you Lily, Rest in Peace.
