Letter – Accident waiting to happen

There have been several mishaps where people have fallen on the new paving which has been installed in front of Starbucks in James Bay. While it looks really nice and has cleaned up the appearance, it is like a marble finish which offers no grip whatever when it rains. Many elderly persons who live in the high rise have shared their fears and were under the impression that management were going to texture the surface. I overheard a concerned person discussing the issue with the installers but it seemed that there was little or no interest shown and they expressed that no such treatment will be offered. This is an accident waiting to happen!
