"Victoria is the most beautiful place in all of Canada" says the owner of James Bay's new Ogden Point Adventures, Jerry Williams. Williams has a new start-up down on the water (beside Helejet) that aims to get folks out and active in a multitude of ways. Born and raised in Victoria BC Williams believes that our aquatic scene is worth investing in. Thanks to his effort we now have access to more methods to see the "stunning vistas, snowcapped mountains, and fascinating marine life" than ever before. Born with a fishing rod in hand and now with twenty-five years of scuba-diving experience, this national competitor in freestyle swimming, Williams, is the best man for getting us out on the ocean. He's got stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, electric bikes, and chartered boat tours available. He's an "entrepreneur for life" and has become "part and parcel with the Mercury Service Centre." "Anything that's marine: that’s us. Everything to do with the local waterways: we know".  He's a huge supporter of marine education and is a big fan of the Ogden Point Anglers Association: catching his first twenty-pounder at age twenty five. Williams is a man committed to recreation and to local business partnerships. To make his recreation company even more lovely, he's retrofitted a storage container into a fully functional cafe. It has fresh fruit smoothies, eight flavors of ice cream, Smoking Joes' smoked salmon, all-beef hotdogs, and specialty coffee; all from local suppliers. Erin Bradly, owner of the Ogden Point Dive Centre, milled the cafe's beautiful fir countertops. He stops by the adventure dock on his way out to sea.

The cafe is open all summer long from 8:30 AM until 6:30 PM with extended hours (9:00 PM) Thursday through Saturday. Booking for recreation activities can be made through www.ogdenpointadventures.com.
