Actors and young audience members read verse from HOLES IN THE SKY

International Who’s Who author and James Bay resident Stanley K. Freiberg along with local actress/director Naomi Simpson will be presenting a free event to inspire young readers at James Bay New Horizons on July 14th and 16th from 2pm to 4 pm in the main hall. HOLES IN THE SKY: Stories of discovery will be read by the author himself and veteran professional actors and will also include readings from young members of the audience.
Stanley K. Freiberg, poet, dramatist, and fiction writer, earned his doctorate degree at the University of Wisconsin. He is a William Blake scholar and a specialist in the English Romantic period. Retired from the University of Calgary, he has taught at universities in the United States, five Canadian provinces, and the University of Baghdad.
Also a composer of verses set to song, his Tone Poems were presented at the Victoria Conservatory of Music in September 2012. Music and poems from his Baskets of Baghdad, dedicated to the Iraqi people, were presented at the Metro Theatre in 2007.
His works are recognized in the International Who’s Who of Authors and also of Poets.
Holes in the Sky: Stories of Discovery told in verse for children, was published in 2011.
