From My Balcony

Apr 2015

From my balcony, I look out through the trees

And see Nature, as she does her best to please

I see gardens filled with flowers coloured bright

So spectacular – such an awe inspiring sight

Trees present a haven to the birds

That communicate with chirping, not with words

They come in profusion to build their nests

And raise their young, to challenge nature’s tests

I watch with interest, the activity in the trees

The flitting butterflies, the constant humming of bees

A squirrel that comes to investigate, this dark domain

It dashes here, it dashes there, and then gone again

I look beyond the foliage, and through the mist

I see the far off mountains as they’re gently kissed

By soft white clouds that rest upon their peaks

Completing this spectacular view, every human eye seeks

Flowers and trees, birds and bees, all are mine to enjoy

As I sit upon my balcony, and wonder at nature’s ploy

There is no other vista that could ever offer me

What I see and enjoy while sitting alone – on my balcony
