Busy port in winter
Feb 2015
Phot0 and aticle by Josie Bannerman
Ogden Point is Canada’s busiest cruise ship port of call. But the cruise ship season is a fair weather business, and Ogden Point is often underutilized during the winter months. Seaspan, Pacific Pilotage and the Wave Venture are current tenants at the port year round, and the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority works hard to attract additional business in the off-season, and freighters stop by during the winter, to take advantage of a variety of port services. In addition to the regulars, MV Lillian and Brattingsborg V6005 were also in port January 6. The MV Lillian arrived for cargo hold inspection, while the Brattingsborg V6005 offloaded two large yachts. It was a busy winter day for the port of Victoria.
