Neighbourhood Leaf Collection
James Bay leaf collection is scheduled to begin on December 8. Place on the boulevard in loose piles or tied in clear 100% compostable bags. City trucks will make one pass down each street. However if you call the City parks office at 250-361-0600, leaving name, address and phone number, arrangements can be made for pick-up of bagged leaves, for free, within 5 working days. Bags must be clear, 100% compostable, plastic 33 litre standard size. If a return trip is necessary, $40. may be charged, per household’s request.

Mark December 6 on your calendar as the start of Victoria’s Christmas festivities.
Santa Clause will stop by the Ship’s Point Christmas Market (5:00 to 9:00pm).
At 5:45pm the Annual IEOA Lighted Truck Food Drive and Convoy will depart Ogden Point; travel along Dallas Road to Oak Bay; returning to Inner Harbour via Oak Bay Avenue and Yates and Belleville Streets; ETA in front of the Empress is 7:00pm to coincide with commencement of Lighted Ship sail-past; ETA at route end Western Speedway is between 8:15 and 8:30pm.
At 7:00 pm the Lighted Ship Parade, led by the HMCS Oriole and over 25 lighted ships do a sail-past, starting at Ships Point and proceeding to Fisherman’s Wharf.
The Lighted Ship parade supports the Victoria Cool Aid Society. A representative will be on hand to accept your donations of non-perishable food items and gently-used clothing.
